Run Like a Champ: Tip 2 from Olympic Marathoner Hendrik Pfeiffer

by Lucas Francois on
German Marathon champion Hendrik Pfeiffer, known for his participation in the Olympic Games in Tokyo (among many other running achievements), is gearing up for the prestigious Berlin Marathon and the New York City Marathon, where he'll be sporting the Amazfit Cheetah Pro. In this blog series, Hendrik will share seven tips for runners looking to start Breaking Limits.

By Hendrik Pfeiffer
  1. Entertain yourself during your runs.

Especially during the COVID lockdowns, many of us had to do much of our training alone. No running partners and no competitions for the foreseeable future - not the best conditions for great training euphoria. When I'm out for training without any training partner, music and podcasts help me quite a lot to cover lonely mileage. Especially in winter, when it gets dark early, an exciting podcast can turn a rather reluctant run into a little adventure. Thanks to the storage capacity of the Amazfit Cheetah Pro, you can store your own music or radio plays directly on the watch and play them via Bluetooth on your headphones or the watch’s speaker. You can also control your cell phone’s music with the watch during your run and even make phone calls in addition to audio functions, all via Bluetooth.

It's also important to vary your playlists. I often notice that my music playlist is overheard after two weeks and that annoys me rather than enriching the run. At the latest, you should change the playlist or switch to a different medium, for example, podcasts. Variety is the key!
